Artistic text is generally used for short text strings. To add text to the page, click once where the text string should begin.

The Pick Tool can always be used with text and can transform it like it would any other object. When a text string is resized, CorelDRAW keeps track of its current point size.

Paragraph text is generally used for larger text blocks. If the text should appear in a particular area, just draw a marquee on the page using the Paragraph Text Tool.

A text frame will appear with a text cursor already placed in it, where you can start typing.

The Pick Tool can still be utilized to stretch, scale and rotate paragraph text frames. In addition, the top and bottom handles of the text frames allow you to control the text overflow.
